Gardening Home | Planting Scheme | What’s Growing? | Get Involved/Join the Mailing List

The big-budget revamp of the green spaces from the east of Hove Lagoon all the way to the King Alfred leisure centre is under way. It’s an exciting modification that suits many purposes. What’s particularly exciting is plenty of new planting, both in the new access point to Hove Lagoon and all the way along throughout the Kingsway to the Sea development.
The full mock-up council video is embedded at the end of this article but here are a few stills that convey some of the new planting:

There’s been much consideration paid to both drainage and landscaping and a renowned gardening consultant has been brought in to design and plan the new planting with a considerable portion of the budget going to new trees and plants.
You can see the scale of the development on the council planning portal. Here’s a link to the full detail PDF if you are interested to read all the small print!

Here’s a list of all the proposed plantings. We’re excited – are you?!
