About the LagoonFest 2024 artists
Cassette Lord

Cassette Lord, AKA Martin Middleton, is a Brighton based street artist and the first to paint his designs onto the green media cabinets of Brighton. Best known for his large cassette visual tag, he seeks to introduce retro pop art and a sense of the surreal into our everyday urban environment. Cassette Lord hopes to subvert media propaganda by using the tools and ubiquitous weapons of advertising against itself. He is inspired by the work of Claes Oldenburg and Andy Warhol as well as Japanese animation, retro design and graffiti art.

Pauly the Painter

Pauly the Painter (Paul Cary): “I realised I wanted to be a creative after my wonderful mum took me to the National Gallery at the age of 6. Like Monet, I never tire of painting in similar locations to capture the ever changing nature of sunlight. I never mind featuring people in paintings especially youngsters. I paint them on the front of the canvas and then they write their name on the back so they are spiritually involved in the artwork! I have an Impressionistic style but like all forms of creativity from dancing to building sand castles. My advice would be to never give up creating, it gives your soul food and will always make you a better person.”
