Hove Lagoon News! The Friendship Bench, notice boards, and a new defibrillator!!

The Friendship Bench

The Friendship Bench

Our Friends of Hove Lagoon and Tourism Alliance bench is now finished and in place. As a ‘Friendship Bench’, and the first in a trail of such benches, it’s there to promote conversation and tackle mental health issues.

Thanks to Dale Buckwell of Regency Ironworks Ltd for stripping and galvanising the bench, and David Flack for securing it. Thanks too to Julia at the Tourism Alliance and wonderful local artist Suzi Lowe Artist!

We have a new defibrillator at Hove Lagoon!

It can be found in an alcove on the outside of the Big Beach Café to the left of the women’s toilets.

With thanks to Friends of Hove Lagoon donors, The Big Beach Cafe, Hove Lagoon Funplay, and @bhseafrontteam, for your contributions! And honourable mention yet again to David Flack for installing the device – what a superstar that man is!

FREE CPR AND DEFIBRILLATION TRAINING!

The Big Beach Café, Friends of Hove Lagoon, Hove Lagoon Funplay, and the Seafront Team, have joined forces to buy a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for public use – to be kept outside the Café.

Prof Rob Galloway, A&E Consultant at RSCH, Medical Director of Brighton Marathon, and Crowd Doctor at the AMEX, will be doing free training suitable for everyone aged 4 to 104!
